Passenger Reception and Seat Arrangement

迎接旅客和安排座位

（One stewardess stands at the front cabin door to welcome the passengers aboard. Others show the passengers to their seats and arrange their baggage.）

S: stewardess    P: passenger

S: Good morning，sir. Welcome aboard!

P1: Good morning! Could you direct me to my seat?

S: Sure. Your boarding pass，please?

P1: Yes. Here it is.

S: It’s 16A.Well ，it’s in the middle of the cabin，the window seat. This way，please. I’ll show you your seat.

(They find that the seat has been occupied by a woman.)

P1: You did say a window seat?

S: Yes. Row 16 seat A. I’m afraid the woman might be in the wrong seat. Please wait a minute here.

P1: Excuse me，madam. May I see your boarding pass?

P2: Here you are.

S: I’m afraid you’re sitting in the wrong seat. This is 16A，but your seat number is 6A，in the front of the cabin. The numbers are shown along the overhead compartment.

P2: Oh. I’m sorry. I’ll move，then.

S: That’s all right. May I help you with your bags?

P2: No，I can do it myself. Thank you just the same.

S: That’s all right now，sir.

P1: What a relief. Thank you very much.

S: You are welcome.

(一位女乘务员站在机舱门口欢迎乘客登机。其他乘务员引导乘客就座并安排他们的行李。)

乘务员：早上好，先生，欢迎乘坐本次航班！

乘客1：早上好，你能指一下我的座位在哪里吗？

乘务员：好，请出示您的登机牌。

乘客1：给您。

乘务员：是16A。在中舱靠窗座位，请往这边走，我带您去。

乘客1：您刚才说是靠窗座位？

乘务员：是的。16排A座。恐怕那位妇女坐错座位了。请在这里稍等片刻。

乘客1：行。

乘务员：对不起，女士。我可以看看您的登机牌吗？

乘客2：给您。

S:This is the seat-recliner button. If you push it，the seat of your chair slides out and back recliners，so you can relax and be comfortable. But for take-off and landing，the seat must be in an upright position. Now you can try it...

S:Yes.You just turn the knob here above you in whichever direction you like，or you can also shut it off by turning it tightly to the right.

S:This is your seat belt. Just to be on the safe side，you should keep your seat belt fastened when the plane takes off or lands. It’s very easy to use it. Slip the belt into the buckle and pull tight，that’s all.

S:I appreciate your problem. But you should be seated in the assigned seat，in order to ensure proper weight and balance for the aircraft when it takes off. Would you please go back to your assigned seat for the time being? After it takes off，you may return to this seat.

p1:OK，I see.

p2:Excuse me, Miss. Do you mind if I ask you a question?

S:Go ahead.

P2:The man over there is a friend of mine. I wonder if I could sit next to him.

S:Well.Let me try to talk with the girl beside him to change the seat with you. Follow me ，please. May I trouble you, Miss? The man over there would like to sit together with the passenger here. Would you be kind enough to change to another seat?

P3:OK，no problem.

S:Thank you，Miss.

p2:Thanks a lot.

S:Whose bag is it?

P1:It“s mine. I don’t know where to put it. The overhead compartment is full and I’ve tried to put it under the seat，but it doesn’t fit. Can you help me?

S:You know，nobody is allowed to leave baggage here as the aisle mustn’t be blocked. But don’t worry. Please carry the bag and follow me. Maybe there will be some rooms in the front cabin.

(They come to the front cabin. The stewardess opens one of the overhead compartment and she finds a handcart in it.)

S:Whose handcart is this，please?

p2:Why?It“s mine. What’s up?

S:Please don’t put your handcart in the overhead compartment ，In case of turbulence，it might fall down and hurt somebody. Could you place it under your seat?

p2:Sure.

S:Thank you very much.

Now your problem has solved.

p1:Oh，my God!

S:What“s happened!

P1:Where“s my leather briefcase?

S:Where did you put it? Is it in the overhead compartment or somewhere else?

P1:I did put it beside me on my seat. It must have dropped on the cabin floor when I got up from my seat，I’ll go and look for it.

S:No hurry. I’m sure you could find it.

S:Have you found it?

p1:Yes.

S:Where did you find it?

P1:Just under the seat. That had me worried for a while. Thank you for your help.

S:Not at all.

乘务员：这是谁的包？

乘客2：当然可以。

乘务员：谢谢。

乘客1：噢，天呐！

乘务员：发生什么事啦？

乘客1：我的公文包在哪里？

乘务员：您把它放哪儿了？在行李架上或其他什么地方？

乘客1：我是把它放在座位边上的。准是在我站起来时掉在地上了，我去找找。

乘务员：您找到公文包了吗？

乘客1：找到了。

乘务员：您在哪找到的？

About Flying

关于飞行

The chief stewardess: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome you aboard China Southern Airlines to Shenzhen, Please make sure that your seatbelt is fastened, your seat is upright, and your tray table is closed. Furthermore, this plane is one of the most advanced type of airplane in the world, and the pilots on our flight are the most skilled one in our airlines. So don’t worry about that.

P:Oh,I see. How long will it takes to fly from Beijing to Shenzhen?

S:Our flying time should be approximately three hours.

P:How high shall we fly?

S:We"ll be flying at an altitude of about 10 000 meters.

P:And what’s the speed of our plane?

S:The cruising speed will be about 900 kilometers per hours. I’m sorry I’ll go and see if there’s anybody in the lavatory ad the plane is about to take off.

P:Thank you for answering my questions.

S:It"s no problem.
